Meet Our Team

Marianne, a former Critical Care/Emergency Department Registered Nurse, established SPECIALTY Professional Services in March 1993 with her long-time colleague and friend Matthew B. Scherr. Prior to starting her own staffing agency, Marianne worked as a staff nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, before moving to Bellevue Hospital Center to complete her Critical Care Certification and trauma experience.

Obtaining her Masters of Arts through the Executive Training Program of Organization and Leadership at Teachers College, Marianne continues to be the clinical liaison between her acute hospital client facilities and registered nurses.

Marianne resides in Westchester County, NY with her two children, Kevin and Kathryn.

Vasken joined the SPECIALTY team in 2008 and has subsequently become a Managing Partner at our organization. Vasken is an integral part of the SPECIALTY family, contributing over 22 years of experience in the healthcare staffing and management industry. Prior to joining our team, Vasken worked as a key member of the executive team with Medstaff Healthcare Solutions (Newtown Square, PA) as their National Operations Manager. His role there included business development and nationwide management for ten Medstaff offices. Vasken was a key member of the executive team when Cross Country Healthcare acquired Medstaff in 2003. Vasken currently lives on Long Island with his wife Mariana and two children, Katia and Armen.
